Pinhead / Hellraiser

Hellraiser made a big impression on me when I first saw it in my mid-teens. I loved the atmosphere and just how insanely dark it all felt. Also, I loved how normally horror posters are more suggestive (e.g the egg in Alien) but for this, they just used his whole face as the poster (which became iconic). The drawing was complicated to the point of feeling like I was going a bit nuts half way through. I listened to Nine Inch Nails whilst doing it. I was also in conversation with a friend that day who had no idea what Hellraiser was, even when I tried to explain.

I still think Hellraiser and Hellraiser II are great films, with very creative stories based on human themes, and great use of practical effects.

Original size is about A1.
