PSYCHOLOGY

It makes sense to learn about the workings of your own brain – after all, you do use it every second of your life. The workings of perception, thought, decision making, relationships, communication, memory and emotion permeate every facet of our lives.

Personally, I’ve always found the notion of academic psychology incredibly stuffy and pompous. Psychotherapists and those of psychology academia frequently wear the guise of “I’ve studied lots of research, therefore I am right, and you should listen to me” and forget that they don’t know much at all, in the grand scheme of things.

I studied psychology and neuroscience at university, and whilst it was interesting, it was also very restricted. The problem with degrees is that the herds of undergrads really are treated like cattle, most of whom are only there because they aren’t sure what to do with their lives (I was no exception, although at least I was guided by genuine interest). Psychology is interesting, fascinating, and simplified applicable psychology should be made more available to everyone without being buried in academia.

After university, I realised I knew nothing, and continued reading about points of interest (mostly, hypnosis, suggesion and the subconscious) and discovered all sorts of great niches that have massive applications in life.

Tip of the Iceberg

This site is really just the absolute tip of the iceberg. If you have your apetite whetted for more, then thats great! I have listed some great books in the shop section (above) in case you want to delve deeper into the rabbit hole.

For now, I realise the site is very superficial, and I aim to inject more into it as and when I can.
